keyboard fantasies

Recently awarded the Slaight Polaris Heritage Prize in 2020, Keyboard Fantasies was originally self-released on cassette in 1986. Entirely recorded on DX-7 and TR-707 in the northern Canadian town of Huntsville, it lies musically somewhere between new-age and (accidentally) early Detroit techno experiments. The inimitable style of BGC here is both peaceful and meditative while simultaneously rhythmic and bass heavy. The album is a beautiful fusion of personal vision, technology and place.

The 35th anniversary re-issue of Keyboard Fantasies is available now on vinyl, CD and cassette, including extended liner notes written by Robyn.

LIVE AT LE GUESS WHO

Live At Le Guess Who? was recorded in November 2018 at the festival of the same name in Utrecht. It contains an extraordinary performance of Beverly Glenn-Copeland with his band, Indigo Rising, on his first ever international tour at 74 years old.

After a decades-long hiatus from live performances, you can hear how much his music has connected with a new generation of music fans. Performing musicians in Indigo Rising include Bianca Palmer, Nick Dourado, Jeremy Costello, Kurt Inder and Carlie Howell.

Available now on CD, vinyl and streaming services.

primal prayer

First released in 2004 under the pseudonym ‘Phynix’, Primal Prayer’s 8 tracks are a wildly creative fusion of jazz, world, dance and classical influences. Sonically the album is almost without comparison, a life-affirming acknowledgement of the many paths we humans walk to enable us to open our hearts and lives to each other.

Available now on CD and vinyl via ORG Music.

Beveryly glenn-copeland

Recorded and released in 1970 with some of the era’s finest musicians including guitarist Lenny Breau, pianist and producer Doug Riley, bass player and pianist Don Thompson, drummer Terry Clarke, and flautist Jeremy Steig, this magical album was recorded live and in one take. The result is an an extraordinary melding of jazz and folk filtered through the prism of Glenn’s classical upbringing. Originally released on GRT Records, ‘Beverly Glenn-Copeland was reissued in 2018 by Supersonic Jazz.

Beverly copeland

Recorded in early 1970 as part of CBC’s Transcription series, just 250 copies of ‘Beverly Copeland’ were pressed for distribution to CBC’s radio affiliates. Original pressings of the album remain highly sought-after but recent re-pressings and digital releases have finally made these incredible performances available to a wider audience.

At Last!

Released in 1980 on Beverly Glenn-Copeland’s own label and featuring his long-time collaborator Doug Riley "At Last!” took it’s name because it took so long for Glenn to get back in the studio and release new music (his previous recordings were in 1970)! The ultra-rare EP reveals Glenn in deep funk, soul and rock modes. It has not been re-issued yet..
